“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.” (William Casey, CIA Director 1981-1987. Or not.*)
“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” (Mark Twain)
*I added “or not” to the first quote because there is controversy surrounding whether or not Casey really said it. But living up here in the 21st century, it sure seems like he could have said it.
Know what I mean?
As my title indicates, one hardly knows anymore what can be believed or not in the world of conspiracy theories–or alleged conspiracy theories–proliferating faster than mushrooms in manure, these days.
And most of the population by now has even forgotten there are such things as conspiracy FACTS.
But–for the good news–there is still truth to be had that no verbal, psychological, and/or physical mob of culture and truth cancellers can destroy.
As for the Twain (Samuel Clemens) quote, it comes embellished with his classic twist of wit to drive a point home with a grin, so it’s on point for him, especially in such a time as this when many can now see the global political, economic, and social polar reversals, so to speak, in all their disturbed and disordered manifestations…
On to today’s aspect of the chaos, and perhaps the most potent: conspiracy theories.
On the Best EVER Psychological Operation!
I think one of the most successful twenty-first century psychological operations (PSYOPS) has been the introduction of the term “conspiracy theory/theorist” as a pejorative, or put down.
A conspiracy theory suggests the idea that all opposition to a particular point of view is synonymous with “misinformation, “disinformation,” even–and worse–“malinformation” (the new term on the block that has an even more ominous connotation), since many people have figured out that the other two are often PSYOPs themselves.
Here in the old school, conspiracy theories in today’s propaganda mills are still known as flat-out lies, of course, especially if they are conspiracy theories about the opposition’s point of view with no discussing allowed.
Confusing. I know.
Arguably on purpose.
Another Point of View
In these days, especially if they are “end of the age” days, as prophecy scholars strongly suggest, when scary events are colliding with one another in speed and significance for the first time on global fronts like little–and daily growing–distracting fires, the whole mess can leave one who is trying to think critically and find the truth through the fog and fear of PSYOPfare breathless, confused, cynical, and at length, apathetic.
Am I right?
It can also leave one hopeless–which is undoubtedly one of the goals of such PSYOPfare because if there is no hope, or even hope of hope of untangling the whole mental and emotional mess, humans. are. at. their. most. vulnerable.
We want it all to STOP! And may even do things we might not otherwise do in more rational times because at a certain point, we just want to get back to the ball game, buy us some peanuts and Cracker Jax, and get back to NORMAL.
However, by now we have been so conditioned to think that maybe Some Evil Entity has a NEW normal all lined up for us (we sense it’s true, anyway, even if we don’t track with prophecy) while we pray it’s a Somebody with our best interests at heart, we can’t even enjoy a night out–even though we may have to pay two or three times as much for our nuts and Jax–so we had best do what “they of authority” tell us and maybe just stay home and hide behind our masks and stay tuned to the talking heads on the tube.
And wait for someone to end this.
(It gets good, here, but first, the contrast to hopefully drive my point home.)
On Someone #1: The Father of Lies
But of course chaos, confusion, and conspiracy theorizing (the lie kind) is our real enemy’s MO as he, aka Satan, the Devil of a thousand faces and fists–and his minions, whether witting or unwitting–has never abandoned his tri-fold battle plan to “steal, kill, and destroy,”
He may seem to be cooperative, to be willing to compromise, and to be “good,” via his minion presence on earth (“It’s for the CHILDREN” is one of their emotion-tugging thus debate-stopping strategies today), but although Evil & Co. talk a good talk their walk has always been deceptive as a precursor to, well, actually stealing, killing, and destroying because the whole kit and cabal is led, as Jesus noted, by “the father of lies.”
Calling enemies loaded names such as conspiracy theorists has been and always will be a potent weapon, particularly if critical thinking is eroded by name-calling, censorship, violence, and screaming at the sky; particularly also because the moniker has arguably morphed into a trigger term that is a potent semantic hook with a short chain.
A big hook and chain, however.
When the overthrow goes global, that is, one ideology gains momentum and speed by hammer-and-sickling culture after culture, nation after nation, from their roots into a central enslaving government, the work is half done.
The rest of the politiforming, you might call it, is left to whomever has the most boots on the ground, bombs in the air, and bucks in the bank.
And here is why I think labeling all opposition merely conspiracy theories (while metaphorically speaking hacking and hammering through whole continents by thought and word until it’s time for deeds) is a brilliant, if beastly, PSYOP:
If there is no longer any foundational truth to be relied upon and learned from the world is left twisting in the wind with no stabilizing cultural anchors on which to rely and turn to in times of turmoil and takeover.
For believers, and everyone else who so chooses, however, there is not only a foundational Truth but also a Way and a Life that is alive, well, and effective not only in temporal troubles but for eternity. (See our field manual, aka the Bible, for specs and ops.)
Consider…
On Someone #2: The Way, The Truth, and The Life
Jesus Comforts His Disciples
14 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
4 And you know the way where I am going.”
5 Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”
6 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. (John 14:1-6)
“Through Me” as in by choosing to put one’s faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior–the only “Someone” who is the same “yesterday, today, and forever”* (Hebrews 13:8).
And as regarding God the Father:
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:17)
Can I get an “Amen”?
For if anything defines the confusing, chaotic, fearful, dangerous, and ominous times we live in, it is change, or “shifting shadows” as put above. In other words, there is LOTS of fodder for conspiracy theories.
But God, Who knows the end from the beginning, is not stressed, perplexed, or surprised.
And He keeps working His eternal plan.
As put in Isaiah 46:10:
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’
And, to boot, He even laughs at Evil & Co. As put in Psalm 2:
Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
3 “Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.”
4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.
5 He rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath…
Does THAT give you hope for today and a future to look forward to?
Nevertheless, keep your seatbelt fastened, your spiritual bags packed, and your eyes on the eternal prize.

Here a Conspiracy Theory, There a Conspiracy Theory, Everywhere a Conspiracy Theory…So Where’s the Truth?
