On the First Phase of the Rapture: “God’s EMP”?

Phyllis Beveridge Nissila

By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise.  17 After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord…

(1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, NIV)

With all the talk of Electromagnetic Pulses (EMPs, sometimes with an added “N” for Nuclear) and the kind of global panic they could cause, here is what I’m conjecturing: perhaps it won’t be man’s, but “God’s EMP” that marks the first phase of–the Rapture.

When the doctrine of the so-called Rapture of the Church is taught, teachers often gloss over that first phase. As verse 16, above, indicates, this phase involves the raising of “dead” Christians (from “nekros,” meaning literally dead) just before any living believers are “raised” up “in the air” to meet with Christ–whether it is a pre, mid, or post Tribulation event (scholars vary on the timing).

But whenever it occurs, I invite the reader to take a closer look at that first phase in light of perhaps a very similar event: what may well have occurred to embed the image of a man, deduced by some to be Jesus, into the shroud thought to be His that is located in Turin, Italy (read: a nuclear-powered event).

I would like to offer a conjecture on how what happened in Jesus’ tomb that etched His image, as some believe, onto His shroud by some kind of radiation blast may be the same kind of blast that raises dead believers moments before “we who are alive and remaining” are Raptured up.

In other words, perhaps the billions of believers from the past two thousand years who will be “raised from the dead” before the rest of us are “caught up”(from harpazo: seized, snatched) are brought back to life by the same kind of power that raised Jesus from the dead, an EMP directed by God, if you will, and if this might be a kind of EMP event, world-wide, that would mark the prophesied Tribulation period which is also tied in with the Rapture.

Such an event would surely cause great pandemonium, confusion, terror, and chaos which would, of course, in shortest order, necessitate some kind of global leader who could fix things.

Enter the Anti-Christ (as Christians would dub him).

See what you think.

ON GOD’s EMPs

About twenty years ago I listened to a radio interview of a nuclear physicist who explained how the imprints of the body on the so-called Shroud of Turin (supposedly Jesus’ burial cloth) were made by a burst of nuclear power. This was long before all the concern over EMPs began to be broadcast.

He went into detail based on a forensic analysis from his area of expertise. I haven’t been able to locate the audio of that interview; however, I found other more recent technical analyses along a similar line, here, here, and here (a search reveals many more) that suggest a sudden flash of high radiation, or an electromagnetic event, perhaps of the collimated variety (meaning as narrowly, laser-like focused as possible).

But if it was such nuclear power that would raise a man from the dead in a tomb, how could the power be limited to just inside the tomb? Wouldn’t this affect living and dead creatures surrounding the tomb as well?

As it turns out, Jerusalem Stone, from which Jesus’ so-called Garden Tomb was hewn, contains dolomite which serves as a kind of Faraday-like shield material, thus it would also limit the range of the EMP (as meshing material inside microwave ovens keeps the radiation contained). So there is one possible explanation.

But, if such a focused blast of radiation would be the cause of each and every dead Christian (billions over two millennia) raised in the first phase of the Rapture, there would be little or no shielding of this nuclear level power surrounding each “grave,” whether the Christian’s “burial location” is in the ground or simply dust particles of DNA strewn where they were. Thus, much else would be affected, including world-wide electronic transmissions. Thus, a possible global EMP, caused by God, if you will.

Back to, or forward to, I should say, the Rapture event.

TO SUM IT UP

So whenever the Rapture might occur, an event that will be global, and if my conjecture has any relationship to what might happen, consider:

IF dead Christians are raised in a similar manner as was Jesus Christ, via a kind of electromagnetic pulsing power, and

IF there is, of course, no such Faraday shield of metal-alloyed stone (or metal) for arguably most “cemeteries,” to limit the power, and

IF what this means is billions of little “atomic explosions,” as it were, around the planet, wherever Christians rest in peace (after the Church has concluded spreading the Gospel “in all the world” as a “testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come” as Jesus prophesied) such a phenomenon (followed momentarily by phase two) would at least theoretically cause the biggest, most catastrophic EMP black-out the world could ever know, let along the biggest overall catastrophic event.

So why does this interest me?

For one thing, I do not believe that outside of a few localized EMPs to scare people and/or to focus on shutting down power in one key locale for whatever purpose, there will be any man-made global EMP attack.

Why?

Such a catastrophe, I think, would seriously interfere with the kind of world-wide webbing of 5G power, say, needed for the kind of control over our lives (and things) the dark-side masters of the universe might be desiring. Think Big Brother and Spy Net genres of characters and science fiction plot lines, let alone the real news concerning such things.

And for another thing, it’s going to take a LOT of disruptions of the norm to really panic people everywhere into submitting a.s.a.p. to a one-world leader, however benign, charming, educated, charismatic, well-healed and pedigreed he may be or may be advertised to be. If he has religious leanings, all the better.

But why write about this?

Partly because I have heard many prophecy scholars indicate that scientists now “get” the technology in the apocryphal books, notably the Book of Revelation, that were largely relegated to metaphor when John penned the last book of the Bible and up until the twentieth century, but we have pretty good understanding now.

But I offer my conjecture mainly because along with the many other events, especially in the geopolitical realm, that seem just now to be converging in what is known Biblically as “end times,” we might be closer than we think to the Rapture. And this is what makes me want to encourage readers, again, to choose, if you have not yet, Whom you will believe.

And maybe by offering another look at the Rapture events, one or two readers might be intrigued by this possible explanation and  might be prompted to give it all a little more thought, whether he or she agrees. At least I hope so.

Should this be you, reader, who somehow found this post, here’s what to do for salvation, followed closely by reading the Bible and finding other Bible-believing Christians with whom you can talk, discuss, pray, and fellowship.

For whatever will be the cause of the fulfillment of the remaining prophecies, not only Christians but most people in the world at large, now, know that something of a global, catastrophic nature seems looming just ahead.

And I pray that whoever you are, you will choose the right side of spiritual history. Perhaps my conjecture will prompt further inquiry.

      You’re welcome.

I love it when mankind catches up to God’s inventions…in the fullness of time, always…

Even if some of our conjectures are just that.

      Blessings,
