So many people are shaking their heads in utter disbelief over some of the illogical, ironic, and downright dangerous ideas coming out of the mouths of the alt-left these days. “Do they not think about what they are saying? Believing?” the head-shakers say. “Do they not comprehend what comes of the virtually unchecked violence co-opting legal protests and the blatant hatred toward Whites/Republicans/Christians/Anybody who does not think like them?”  And, “Don’t they know what happens when reasoned debate is shouted down and anarchy is openly promoted?”And so on.

But perhaps some of them actually do not comprehend.

Perhaps the following commentary  on old Soviet-styled mind control (aka psychological or ideological subversion),  as delineated in a 1983 interview with former Soviet KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov who defected to Canada and lectured on this topic until his death in 1993, may shed some light. And the tactics are not new to that country; indeed, they echo some of the 2,500-year-old writings of Sun Tzu in his treatise The Art of War where he advises the superiority of “breaking the enemy’s resistance without fighting,” and teaches that “in the midst of chaos there is opportunity.”

Bezmenov cites a four-step program to conquer a nation by subversion from within: first, demoralize (15-20 years primarily through [re]education); next, destabilize (2-5 years); next, create widespread chaos/crises (can take just several weeks); and lastly, normalize the takeover, which can go on indefinitely.

See if you think  what he explains has any similarity to what has been happening in the United States of America in recent years. Most importantly, see if you think this nation might be on the brink of what Bezmenov cites as the third stage of a coup of this nature.

Note: This lecture was given before the events of 1989  that triggered the end of the Soviet Union as it existed up to that time.
