Introduction, Part 2

My sister and researcher Claire Gumbs, who developed the prophecy tri-folds featured in this series, has also been a Hebrew student for a number of years. This aspect of her studies is especially significant in this, the second tri-fold which focuses on the alignment of prophecies (those already fulfilled and those yet to come) with Jewish feasts, or “Moedim,” (“appointed times”).

This is one of my favorite prophecy tri-folds because it is particularly effective visually via easy to understand graphics. At a glance, the reader can grasp the sequence of the appointed times, their history and meaning, which ones have been fulfilled (the first four) and which are yet to be fulfilled (the last three).

Tri-fold 2, click: Moedim

part 2

This tri-fold features:

  • What has happened, so far, according to the appointed times, including the seven feasts, their prophetic meanings, and when/where/how they are observed and have been fulfilled by Jesus Christ.
  • What moedim have yet to be fulfilled, their meanings, and how they also refer to Jesus’ fulfillment–at some future point*.

When will the remaining three prophecies that align with the Moedim be fulfilled and what will they look like? Many believe at least the next one, Yom Teruah, Day of Trumpets, will soon be revealed as the Rapture**. But whether it is this year, next, or an appointed time yet to come, we can only conjecture just now. In the meantime, this encouragement:

For still the vision awaits its appointed time (moed, singular of moedim–appointed time, place, festival, feast…); it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay (Habakkuk 2:3). (emphasis, mine)

Post Script

Claire and I encourage the reader to “do your own homework” like the Bereans who were praised for their close study of the Scriptures.

We also encourage you to resist the “normalcy bias” of believing things will always go on as they have always gone on.

If our God knows “the end from the beginning,” the thoughtful student of prophecy will consider that there are “ends” to epochs and eras in the spiritual realm even as such are evidenced in the natural realm.

May God bless and inspire you.

May we also impress upon you that the time may be very short until Jesus returns. If you have not yet received Him as your personal Lord and Savior, the time is right, now, for you. Ask Him into your life and your heart today.

*Here is a listing of the Jewish Feasts for 2016-2017. NOTE: The Feast of Trumpets, or Yom Teruah, is also known as Rosh Hashana and the Jewish New Year. This year of 2016 it will be celebrated on October 3-4. The 3rd of October on the Hebrew calendar actually begins the night before, on the 2nd. It is of interest that many Bible scholars conjecture this moed might be related to the Rapture as it may well be an interpretation of the verse, “no one knows the day nor the hour” (of Jesus’ return) because no one knows the exact timing of the appearance of the new moon, an integral part of this moed, given various atmospheric and cosmic factors in play. Thus, it is celebrated over two days.

**Note, also, that the Rapture teaching is quite controversial in some quarters of Christendom; however, it is not a teaching that ought to raise anger, which serves no one. And whether or not one aligns with this teaching, it is not tantamount to a loss of salvation if one doesn’t. We will at length understand what we need to understand as God continues another of His patterns observed and experienced throughout history, that of deliverance from evil both beforehand and in the midst. Indeed, our hope in an event such as the Rapture, whatever its nature, is expressed as a hopeful event:

Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branches become tender and sprout leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that He is near, right at the door.  Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened.…

(Jesus, Matthew 24:32-34).
